Gippsland Performing Arts Centre

ITE had the privilege of working alongside consultant ARUP, builder Becon Constructions & the Latrobe Council to complete the build of the 750 seat, Gippsland Performing Arts Centre.

The project spanned over a year and included a complete fit out of Audio Visual, Stage Lighting, Drapes, Counterweight System, Sound Door, Outdoor Cinema Screen & Orchestra Lift.

The Fly System works included 57 counterweight lines each with a 500kg capacity, 5 ITE LX Ultra Lighting Bars, 4 panorama lines, 6 ITE Multipurpose Truss Battens with ladder trusses. A full set of drapes was also installed as part of ITE’s works including ITE IFR Theatre Velvet house curtain & valance, ITE IFR theatre wool borders, legs, and tabs, a filled cloth cyclorama and both a black and white scrim.

The Orchestra Lift consisted of a standard ITE Serapid Orchestra Lift with additional features such as Chair Rostra’s and a platform trough. The Orchestra Lift was 38.1m2, travels 4m and provides a dynamic capacity of 2.5kPa and a static load limit of 7.5kPa. The chair rostra allow for the flexibility to change the lift from a seating bank to a conventional orchestra platform and features heavy duty rails and castors for quick and safety changeovers.

The Stage Lighting System comprised of a standard lighting dimming system and patch panels with power outlets conveniently positioned around the stage and FOH, lighting console, house light control interface, a selection of stage lighting fixtures. ITE undertook the initial cable rough in and were on-site right through to equipment installation, commissioning, and handover.

The Audio-Visual Package included an Adamson Sound System, installation of data racks and all associated cabling, TP panels, AV Presentation system and touch screens, paging system, show relay system, hearing augmentation and microphones.
