ITE’s in-house fabric range has been developed using over 40 years of experience in theatrical drapery, informed by real-world performance, client feedback, and long-term durability testing.
These fabrics are manufactured specifically for theatre and performance applications; however, they are also suitable to be used for general-purpose drapes found in commercial and residential sectors.
ITE Theatre Velvet 490gsm IFR
The ITE IFR Theatre Velvet Velour delivers a rich, classic velvet look with modern performance characteristics. Manufactured from 100% polyester, the fabric is inherently flame retardant, meaning no chemical treatments are required and fire performance will not degrade over time.
Despite its synthetic composition, the fabric retains the traditional cotton velvet look and feel favoured in theatres worldwide.

ITE Theatre Wool is the most widely used wool fabric for stage masking and general-purpose drapery. It is manufactured from 80% wool serge and 20% nylon, polyester & viscose, providing the traditional wool appearance with improved durability, reduced elasticity, and enhanced resistance to abrasion and staining.
This fabric is available in multiple weight options, all using the same base material and construction. Weight selection is based on acoustic performance, drape fullness, and load requirements, not colour or finish.
